As Canada’s largest fundraiser for the fight against AIDS, the 20th annual Fashion Cares: M·A·C VIVA GLAM 20 welcomed 5,000 people to commemorate two decades of remarkable commitment, fabulous fashion and spectacular entertainment. Known for its over-the-top couture and eyebrow-raising fashion shows, the blowout gala was themed, “Drama, Daring and Dreams”.
In collaboration with the visionary Len Henry, La Senza and Rev created a seductively unique live fashion showcase to celebrate La Senza’s own intrepretation of Drama, Daring and Dreams. At the heart of the event, were six themed La Senza vignettes: the glamazon supermodel high on a pedestal with translucent fabric blowing around her, the cabaret trio entertaining with their sensual choreography, the Marie-Antoinettes playing hommage to decadence and refinement, the Japanese Geishas quietly mesmerizing with their delicate fan dance under a sea of silk lanterns, the Hollywood inspired red carpet moment complete with paparrazzi snapping away at every guest, and the exotic dancer who had everyone lusting for their very own stripper pole.
Special guests for the evening included Pamela Anderson and fashion designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2. Entertainers included Broadway diva Jennifer Holliday, Grammy Award winner Jody Watley along with The Philosopher Kings and Divine Brown, dance performers Momix and The National Ballet of Canada, aerial artists Hangtime Circus, performance art group Blue Man Group.
